The Be Well Circle

TheBeWellCircle.png

The Be Well Circle is a membership providing inspiration, encouragement, and joy.

You may recall receiving a card, call, or email from someone that lifted your spirits when you may have been feeling downhearted or lonely and the timing was perfect!

Imagine providing that same kind of uplift to yourself or someone you love. It does not require you, or others, to search for uplifting messages. They come directly to you via messaging channels such as email, text, snail mail, etc.

That is exactly the purpose of The Be Well Circle. Just as a circle has no beginning or end, this circle of membership is about health, wellness, happiness, and hopefulness in ongoing joy.

I invite you to come into the circle and spread it outward to others.

Social connection improves physical health and psychological well-being. Strong social connection leads to a 50% increased chance of longevity. Social connection strengthens our immune system (research by Steve Cole shows that genes impacted by social connection also code for immune function and inflammation), helps us recover from disease faster, and may even lengthen our life.

People who feel more connected to others have lower rates of anxiety and depression. Moreover, studies show they also have higher self-esteem, are more empathic to others, more trusting and cooperative and, as a consequence, others are more open to trusting and cooperating with them. Social connectedness therefore generates a positive feedback loop of social, emotional and physical well-being.

The Value of
Social Connection

One study showed that social connection is a greater determinant to health than obesity, smoking, and high blood pressure. And social connection doesn’t necessarily mean physically being present with people in a literal sense, but someone’s subjective experience of feeling understood and connected to others.
